Want to work part-time for Ayrshire College?

Are you looking for a few extra hours to work each week? Perhaps you are a student needing to boost your income, or want a part-time job to get you back to work, or perhaps you already work part-time, and would like to increase your hours.

Whatever the reason – we have just the thing for you! We urgently need a part-time cleaner to help clean the kitchens after the professional cookery students have finished their training for the day. We can be flexible with the hours, but ideally 3pm – 6.30pm Monday to Friday. That adds up to 17.5 hours a week and the pay is £15,562 per annum, pro rata – term time or £8.55 per hour.

What will you be doing? Obviously cleaning will be the top task, but there are also other duties such as making up food orders and stock control.

We’re looking for someone who is flexible, can communicate well, and is happy to work unsupervised and use their own initiative. (There will be other people in the team working too, so you won’t be on your own). You will need to be energetic as it’s quite a physical job – but if you love getting stuck into cleaning you are going to love this job.

It’s a really important job, because we need to make sure our kitchen learning environment meets high standards of health and safety, after all, we are training our students to go out and work in the hospitality industry so it’s vital they experience good practice in College.

You will be helping to prepare an inspiring learning environment for our students. Each morning when they come in to College, they will see the care that has been taken to prepare a clean kitchen ready for them to start their day.  You’ll feel proud of the work you do to help keep the College nice and clean.

We’re looking for someone to start ASAP (subject to pre-employment checks) it’s a permanent post and a job share, and you will be working alongside another catering assistant.
