This course has opened my eyes and allowed me to see things from different points of view. Learning about inequality in the world has been heart-wrenching but fascinating at the same time.
It was great to meet people on my course who are similar to me. I have made friends during my time at college which has really helped alleviate my initial fears of joining the course. They gave me a lot of support and encouragement when I needed it. I can’t thank them enough for believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself.
The highlight of my time here has to be getting an ‘A’ for my Graded Unit. This year had been particularly hard in my personal life. I highly doubted I would even pass the assessment, never mind get an ‘A’.
It feels amazing to have won this award. It makes the hard work I put in more than worth it.
I plan to continue to study through the Open University, which will suit me much better with my job and my family commitments. I’m looking to get a BA Hons degree in Social Science.
Ayrshire College is a fantastic place to study. The tutors and management on my course have been fantastic. They went above and beyond to support me through the year, giving me the confidence to continue regardless of my difficult personal circumstances. I’ve had a great experience at the College and I will miss it very much.
